Methodist Girls Shs Students Make Paper From Plantain And Banana Stalks

In a way to deal with the menace of excessive waste in the country a group of students from the Methodist Girls Shs who recently competed at the just ended National High School Entrepreneurship Competition organization by Sage Ghana annually embarked on the production of paper with Banana Stalks and plantain .


Methodist Girls to have been known as Winners of the World Robotic Competition is currently doing well with great innovations to fit the SDGs.

Their research proved that plantain and banana stem has a fibre that could be used to manufacture paper products .
The students therefore take the stems dry them cut them into pieces boil them and then mill the boiled stalks for the pulp then they dry it to get their paper .
